Faigheann said suas le 10% sa bhreis dá gcuid oibre sa tSraith.
Is í an aidhm na sraithe seo ná labhairt na teanga a spreagadh sa scoil, teagasc a chur ar fáil
trí mhéan na Gaeilge agus cultúr na tíre a chur chun cinn, meas agus grá don teanga a
chothú.
Is buaicphointe na sraithe i gcomhthéacs na Sraithe Sóisearaí Nua ná go gcuirtear T1 Gaeilge
ar fáil do dhaltaí na Sraithe. Is cúrsa Gaeilge fé leith é seo a leanann ar feadh trí bliana agus

Gaeilge. Cuireann Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí fáilte roimh dhaltaí ó gach bunscoil páirt a
ghlacadh sa tSraith Lán-Ghaeilge seo.
The Irish Stream in Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí was established to provide second level
education through Irish for young people in a pleasant, stimulating enviornment. Assistant
Principal, Ms Joy Warren, is the Head of the Irish Stream. Irish, History and Geography are all
offered through Irish in Coláiste Pobail and students can avail of these subjects at Junior
Cycle. They may be awarded bonus marks of up to 10% for completing the State
Examinations in these subjects through Irish. One of its key goals is to inspire a love of the
Irish language among pupils. A key component of the Irish Stream is the provision of T1 Irish
to the students. This is a specialised Irish language course lasting the full three years and is
aimed at students of Gaelcholásití, Gaeltacht Schools, Irish Streams and Units in mainstream

schools. Pupils from all primary schools are welcome to study through Irish.
